Professional experience

On September 16 th, 1991 I have been employed by an Italian insurance company and assigned to different jobs, particularly:

  • Within the IT Departments, I have been charged with interpreting activities for English, French and Italian seminars and worked as a simultaneous translator.
  • I have often been employed to translate English, French and Italian technical texts.
  • I have been assigned to the IT Departments for many years, therefore I have already acquired a good knowledge of IT instruments: like Microsoft Winword, Excel and Powerpoint. Anyway, my interest in foreign languages and literary subjects has never ended and I usually do translations for private clients and companies.
  • For a nearly six-month period I have been working, within the same insurance company, for another department as international secretary and I have organized European and World Conventions in Italy and abroad, using foreign languages and translating from Italian into English and French, writing commercial letters and speaking daily with foreign countries and companies, setting up European seminars for different insurance companies.

Other previous jobs

  • From November 1990 to May 1991 I have been secretary and translator in an Art’s Studio named "Cogliolo" - in Rome - charged with representing the most famous music contemporary and classical artists, organizing concert activities and translating from Italian into English or viceversa.
  • On 27th and 28th October 1990 I have been selected as a hostess in a Congress held on the occasion of a European Council meeting, in Rome at the Senato della Repubblica. I have been asked to stay exceptionally the following day, too.
  • From 01/06/90 to 01/09/90: I have been English and French teacher at the private school "Nuova Didattica" in Rome, attaining high professional satisfaction. I have established very good relationships with my students who have afterwards asked me as their teacher.
  • I have been teaching English privately several times and I have received many appreciations by students and colleagues. I frequently make translating works for private clients and companies apart from language schools.

Recognitions

As I have already mentioned, I have been selected by the Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori in Rome, in 1989, among the first 100 students who obtained the highest marks in the interpreter and translator degree.

Personal interests

I am interested in many knowledge fields and always available to learn new subjects and disciplines. In particular, I am fond of foreign languages and literature, history of art, archeology, Italian literature, Italian and foreign daily newspapers, theatre, novel reading, history and politics.

Associations

I am a member of a cultural association named "Lupa" in Rome engaged on showing and re-evaluating the archeological heritage of ancient Rome

Some translating works I have carried out:

  • A certified translation from Italian into English for the "Byron School" in the aeronautical field.
  • The translation from Italian into English of an article referring to some musical exeriences had by a present musical composer between Japan and Europe and named: "Musical Experiences between Japan and Europe".
  • A translation from Italian into English made for the CONSAP S.p.A. company, concerning the history and goals of the company itself. Various technical translations of insurance, computer science and literary subjects drawn for the company where I am still working and for many other private clients.
  • Many English and French translations.
  • Many translations of technical IT manuals for private customers.

My primary goals in the professional field

I am looking for a job within the field of translation and interpreting preferably using English and French as primary foreign languages. I can also appreciate another kind of job where the language knowledge is important. I can also make small transfers if this choice proves to be necessary to play such a role.

Language teaching is also an important aim for me. I can also write small books in English and French if this could be necessary. I have a very good bent for synthesis.

I am eager to become a tourist guide.

I have always loved public contacts and to be kind to others.
